Small hydropower plants

Hereinafter are the feasibility studies prepared by CSE for the aassessment of the new small hydro power plants with a total capacity of 700MW and the power
generation of 3,000Gwh. The studies are ordered by different consulting groups and which are the object of the concessionaire construction contracts from the local
or foreign private investors:

LFG Biogas

Biogas power plants assessment with a total capacity of 13MW are assessed by CSE (2009):

Small biogas power plant with capacity 50kW - Ramilli 04 Biofarm Durres,
Small landfill gas power plant with capacity 10MW - Tirana Municipal landfill dump,
Small landfill gas power plant with capacity 2MW - Durres Municipal landfill dump,
Small landfill gas power plant with capacity 1MW - Elbasan Municipal landfill dump,


SHPP Bistrica I & II Estimation

CSE - Control Systems Engineer has evaluated the cost fo the privatization of two small hydropower plants Bistrica I & II in South of Albania.
This estimation cost is
based on the annual production cost, discharge water estimation under climate change factors and
KfW Bank loan terms for their rehabilitation:

- Total capacity 28MW (Bistrica I - 22.5MW & Bistrica II - 5.5MW),
- Annual working hours: 5500 - 6000 hours/year,
- Annual power generation: 171GWh/year (where 135GWh (BI) and 36GWh(BII)),
- Selling price 0.065 euro/kWh (according to ERE Purchasing Agreemenent),
- Annual profit 11 mln euro/year,
- HPPs assets cost 50 mln euro,
- Bank's loan 35 mln euro (incl.interest),
- Total assets cost 85mln euro.
